Countdown to Eternity!

As April Closes

(Bowling after spending all day assembling our announcements. Thanks for all the help from Kelli, Todd, Sammy, Andrea, Mom and Dad!)

Can I just say how incredibly excited that I am right now? There are only 38 days left until the wedding! We are down the the thirties! It seems like we have already been engaged for eternity. :) Ok, maybe not that long, but it has seemed like forever, and even though we're down to so few days, it still feels like forever to go.

The next batch of wedding showers is coming up. My ward is giving me a shower this coming Saturday. The lady who asked if she could give it is one of the most amazing people that I know. I grew up being good friends with two of her children, and she was also my YW president when I was in Laurels. I think it is so sweet that she is so excited to do this for me. Her daughter just returned from her mission in Brazil. It is so fun to see her again. She left for her mission while I was still on mine, so it's been three years since we've seen eachother. She was an amazing missionary, and you can tell that she is happy to be home, but wishes she were still out there. When she spoke in church after she got home, it made me so homesick for my mission. I am so glad that the Lord blessed me with the chance to serve a mission. I see so many ways that it prepared me to be married. I can't wait until Kyle and I are older and we can go on a Senior Couple mission. I already made him promise he would take me. :) Anyways, the shower... I'm excitd to get to celebrate with the amazing women of my ward. This ward has been mine for over ten years, and I will always claim it. But it will be strange not to have it as my homebase anymore. I am who I am because of the love and example of so many of the wonderful people of the Granite 12 ward.

The next shower will be next weekend, given by my Maid of Honor, best friend and cousin, Arti. It is going to be super fun. The invitations are so cool. I am so excited that she is so excited because that makes it that much more fun.

I am hoping that the 38 days pass fairly quickly. There are still wedding plans that need to happen, but mostly we're done with that. Kyle and I finally got everything coordinated for the cake this weekend. It's going to be cool. :) But this month at work I have a lot of stuff to do, which will keep me busy like crazy there. Then, at home, I have my wedding errands to run, my birthday to look forward to and plenty of other stuff to keep me busy.

Other good news... Kyle gets to transfer to the day shift! Yay! He doesn't start until after the honeymoon, but we are very excited. We joke that not only will we have to adjust to getting married, we will have to adjust to seeing eachother in the day every day. :) I'm excited. I would have been bored having to be at home by myself. I love Kyle so much! Can I just say that? Because I do. I'm so excited to get to marry him. So excited!

Well, I've gone long enough, I'll let you go now. :)

Wicked!

Santa gave my family a great gift at Christmas time. He gave us all tickets to go see Wicked! This past weekend is when we were able to go. Can I just say AMAZING! Wow! I've always enjoyed the music for the play. I've listened to it for year, just guessing on the storyline and such. I was correct for most of it, but to see and know the storyline makes the music that much better. The woman who played Alpheba was so very talented! My favorite scene was "Defying Gravity." The effects, the music, the voice...! Whoa! So crazy good! I loved it. Kyle turned to me and said, "Well, she has a voice!" :) Thank you Santa! It was fun!

On our way to the play!

We are so excited!

Crystal crazy with anticipation

Shower #2

Last Saturday was the second wedding shower. My wonderful older sister, Summer, put it all together for me. We played a version of the Newlywed Game, in which I learned some things about Kyle that I didn't already know. There were so many people there. I am overwhelmed with the support that I am receiving from everyone, especially my family. I have so much family, and I love the m all. Thanks everyone! We were given some wonderful gifts, including our dishes. My mom surprised me and gave us some of our China set as well. After the shower, I was exhausted. We took our gifts over to sore, but I did not have much energy to pull any of it out. Getting ready for a wedding is tiring work! :)

Kyle was such a good sport and was at the shower for the whole time!

Opening one of the many amazing gifts from my wonderful family!

Magen, Tiffiny, MaryJayne, Arti and Lori hanging out at the shower. :)

Kelli and Kennedy looking beautiful as usual! Kyle's family continues to be so supportive and excited for us.
Thanks everyone!

MIssion Reunion

I've been recording the last weekend in a random order. Be sure to check out the last to posts as well. I had a date on Friday night for the first time in a long time. No, it wasn't with Kyle. And no, it wasn't really a date. I was able to go to my mission reunion on Friday night with my dear friend and companion Stefanie. We were companions in Ramona, which was one of my favorite areas. Anyhoo... It was so fun to see so many of the people I was able to serve my mission. There were some that I was shocked to see there. One elder walked in and I said, outloud, "What are you doing here?" I didn't realize it had been two years. I was in his area when he was a greenie. Weird! It went just about as I expected. I was able to talk with some that I got along with really well. We asked the typical, what are you up to these days questions. Then, there were the ones that pretended like I just wasn't there. Oh well, I didn't care too much anyway. My favorite was to see President and Sister Garner! They were the best I could ask for to be my leaders in the mission. When I first told President that I was getting married, he said he wouldn't be able to come because he would be in Israel. When I talked to him this weekend, he said that the trip has been cancelled, so I'm pretty excited because he may be able to come now! Yay! Anyways, here are some of the must have photos from the reunion...
My date. Isn't she beautiful? :) (Stefanie and me)

Deatra, Trina and me. The threesome!

Yay for Trina! She's so fun. We planned the matching poka dots! J/K

Shower #1

One down, three to go! We had a fun time at the shower this past weekend. Thanks so much to Jim and Tarolyn for putting it on, as well as to Kelli, Kerry and Misty for helping. The shower was BBQ style, so we had yummy cheeseburgers and hotdogs. Pretty much all of Kyle's extended family was there. My mom and the twins came as well. I had only met a very few of his family before. It was nice to have some familiar faces. The rest of the family were all new to me. They are a fun group. They made me feel so welcome, and I'm excited to get to meet them when I am not so shy and new. We received some very nice gifts. We got some of our table linens, and I was so excited about them that I set our table in our little apartment already. It looks so cute! Thanks to the McFall's for their great kindness!
Kyle got to wear the bows too! :)
Aren't we cute?

Misty took very good notes for us.
Ours wasn't a typical shower. I got to kiss the bows off him! :)

What I want to be when I grow up!

Grandma and Grandpa celebrated their 58th anniversary on April 4. I want to be just like them in 58 years. They are still so much in love. Grandpa takes such good care of Grandma, and she takes good care of him. They live by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and their testimonies shine in their faces as well as in how they live and treat others. I have always had a special relationship with my grandparents. Time spent in family dinners, lunch dates and going to the cabin has strengthened our bond as well as my desire to be able to love someone as much as they love eachother. I'm excited to get to know who that love will be. I look forward to getting to be married to Kyle and celebrating our 58th anniversary and knowing that our love has only increased in all those years, and that there will be eternity for it to continue to grow. I hope that I can be as good a wife as Grandma. Both my Grandma's are amazing women. Such wonderful examples I have in my life. How amazingly blessed I have been. So, here's to the next 58 years Kyle! I'm excited to get to spend them with you!

P.S. Grandpa also turned 80 on April 4. Isn't he the handsomest, youngest 80 year old you've ever seen?!

Shower fun

First off, I have completely enjoyed Conference weekend so far! Elder Holland's talk about the Savior's Atonement is my favorite so far. What a blessing it is to know that we are never alone, that Christ knows exactly what we are going through and how to help us. I love Him and thank him for his love for me!
Exactly two months from today, I will be Amber McFall! Yay! The evidences of a coming wedding are starting to show more and more. For example, showers. I have never been the one to be too excited about showers. But I get to have four in preparation for my own wedding. Today will be our first of the four. Kyle's parents are throwing a family shower for us. This will be the first time that I meet the majority of their extended family. I have enjoyed all of them so far, so I'm excited to meet the rest of them.
The second shower will be given by my sister Summer, and my two aunts Jayne and Louise. There has been some confusion about the invitations for this one. So, if you are family and you are reading this, there is a family shower on Saturday , April 11 at 6:00 PM at my house. You will hopefully get the mailed invite sometime this week, hopefully before Saturday... Lol!
The next two will be in May. One May 2, one May 9. Given by my wonderful ward and my maid of honor Arti. I have been so overwhelmed with the blessings that others have extended to me.
So, although I have not always loved going to showers, I am looking forward to celebrating with everyone. Plus, that just means that when those are over, we're one step closer to the wedding!!!!! :)
