Happy Birthday Dads!

This was a weekend of birthdays. March 29th is my Dad's birthday, and March 30 is Kyle's Dad's birthday. So we celebrated Jim's birthday with a family dinner yesterday. Kelli made some very yummy chicken encheladas, Kerry and Misty made a beautiful picture perfect salad and Kyle and I made guacomole. It all turned out pretty good. :) We had the McFall traditional yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I've been told that will be served for every birthday from now on.
Today, we celebrated Dad's birthday with a dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They made some super roast beef and potatoes. We had Stewart the little howler monkey, choo choo train, or tug boat for our background. :) Dad's highlight gifts included a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper, Golden Grahms, and some Reeses. So much fun!
So happy birthday to our Dads! Thank you for your wonderful examples and your great love for each of us. :)

Happy Birthday Jim!

More and More Real

Yesterday, my family had the chance to be in the Draper Temple for the 9:00 dedication session. We had to be to a church to load on a bus at 7:00 in the morning, which meant we had to leave the house around 6:30. It was an early morning. My wonderful Father made sure that we had a ticket for Kyle. It has been so neat to be a part of this new temple being established as we also prepare to be married there. At the temple, we sat in the chapel. We had to wait about two hours for the meeting to start. They were displaying pictures from the temple with music from the Tabernacle Choir in the background. It was so soothing that it lulled more than half the room to sleep. Then, just before the meeting was supposed to start, we found out that President Monson would be walking through the chapel. The workers had chosen a few children to have stand by the door as he walked through. There was a little boy from our ward that got to be in the group. We all stood and President Monson, President Eyring and Elder Ballard came through with their wives. President Monson stopped to shake the children's hands. He commented on one of the little boys' tie, "Those are the colors on the Swedish flag." Then he said, "Are you Swedish?!" It was so sweet. It was a special experience that I will always remember to see the Prophet in person. The dedication was a wonderful experience, and I'm so grateful that I had the experience to be there. The Draper Temple is truly the House of the Lord. I am excited to get to go and be a part of it all.

That having been said, the fact that I am getting married is becoming more real now. With all the excitement of the temple, it still seemed so distant and almost dreamlike since the temple wasn't open yet. But now it is a dedicated House of the Lord. The beautiful marriage ordinance can really be performed there now. We are really going to get married there. Weird! :) I am so excited. Time is going by so quickly, mostly. It still seems like forever. But that is one of the milestones on the way. Our first shower is coming up on April 5 with his family. Then our family's is April 11. Those dates were so far off before... now they are only a few weeks away. Crazy! I'm getting married! Insane! I'm so excited though! Hooray! I'm in love!
Here is a picture of us in front of the Draper Temple after we went to the open house.

Zoo Day

Mom was our photographer. "Put on the Chinese hats!" Thanks Mom! It was a fun break to a busy day.

Please notice the cheetah in the top right-hand corner. This is the first time I can remember seeing the cheetah out and moving around. Usually she is hiding. This was the 'must have an animal in the background' picture.

Waiting outside the monkey house for all the other monkeys! I wish we would have been able to get pictures of Katie and Jorryn and Evelynn, but we didn't. Oh well. Jorryn's two must haves when she comes to visit Granma and Bompa are to go to the zoo and take a bath in Granma's tub. I'm sure we'll get some good zoo pictures next time. :)

Found 'em

So we found some flower girl dresses. They are way adorable. They aren't silver, but we are going to have to get some shrugs for them, so we figured we could make that silver. This week has felt so successful as far as wedding plans are concerned. We've registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. We have the flowers ordered at a very good price. We have my dress, bridesmaids dresses, mothers dresses, and flower girl dresses. Mom and I have also been working vigorously on an address list. There is still a lot to get done, but I feel like we've got it under control at this point. I'm so excited to get to marry Kyle! He is so wonderful! The more we prepare, the more I fall in love and the more excited I become! It is also a very humbling experience. I have always felt a little awkward having people just give me things, especially things that cost more than ten dollars. Registering for gifts has been an interesting experience because of it. And then people being so excited to throw a shower for us, or help us with the wedding. We have been so blesses by so many already! Thankyou for your love and support. I've always knownthat I'm so blessed with such amazing people around me. Thanks for the reminder of all the blessings that I do have! I love you guys!

Random St George Pics.

We were squished close in the back seat of Grandma's car. Very close quarters. So I became the pillow. Don't worry, for most of the way he was my foot rest.

I love this picture. We made the required trip to In 'n Out.
Angel snuck this picture. We are in love. Can you tell?
I think Kyle is going to be Evelynn's favorite uncle. I was holding her and she was just staring at him and cooing at him and smiling at him. I passed her over and he held her for the rest of the night. So sweet!

Evelynn and her favorite auntie! :)

Help!

So I am hitting a little road block here... I have a vision of our four adorable little nieces in cute, poofy (if possible) silver dresses for the wedding. However, it seems impossible to find silver flower girl dresses! If anyone has an idea of where to go or to look, that would be much appreciated. The closest I've found is a sliver and pink one, but the pink does not match with our colors. This is my biggest concern that I have at this point. If all else fails, I guess I can do green dresses, but i really want silver! I would appreciate any input from all of you. :)

The checklist is good however:
dress X
brides maid dresses X
Mom's dress X
reception site X
shower dates set X
flower appointment X
incredible, amazing, gorgeous man to marry XXX!
:)
Have a great day!
