Countdown to Eternity!

Four!!!!

Four! I have to go through four more days until my wedding day! I'm so excited!!

1. Today was my last day in the Granite 12th ward. I remember when we first moved into the ward, I was so sad to have moved out of the last ward I had been in. I was determined that I would not love this ward as much as I had the last one. I was very wrong. My ward is my family. There are so many young women's leaders that I still cherish in my life. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. There are so many people in the ward who have come up to us multiple times asking how they can help us with the wedding. I will truly miss the ward. I am thankful to have grown up in a ward that has helped me to grow into the person I am today and prepare me for such a big step in my life.

2. Along with the ward... I will miss being in a ward that understands that "I am Amber and I cry." It is always interesting being in new settings and then I start to cry for no other reason than that's just how I am, and the people around me don't know how to respond. Today, Dad was teaching the combined fifth Sunday lesson and started talking about something that made him tear up, then I did as well. No one even flinched, because that's just how life is. I hope that it won't take too long for my new ward to adjust to the fact that I just cry and there is nothing to really worry about. :)

3. I'm excited to see our cute little nieces and nephews in their fun wedding outfits on Friday. I'm so blessed to have two of the most adorable nieces in the world! I love them so much. I'm excited to be gaining two more beautiful nieces and a nephew, who I already love. I am excited to get to watch them all grow up and to celebrate life with all of them.

4. I'm excited that things are starting to come together and the list is getting shorter. The table runners have been sewn and are layed out on the table so they don't get wrinkled. My last minute shopping list has been written. There is not much time left to do it all. In my mom's mind that is stressful, in mine it's great! :)

Love you all! :) Happy Sunday!

Five!!!!! Kyle's version

So, we're going to mix things up a little for the five more days countdown. Kyle is going to give his five. :)

1. I am so happy to get to marry the most beautiful girl in the world. She has made my life so great and wonderful. I wake up with a smile every morning knowing that i will be able to text her morning beautiful.

2. I am so happy that Amber is always thinking of me. She is so nice to always bring me taco bell while i am working at nights. It is my favorite when i get to have the number one thing i love, Amber, and also have taco bell the fastfood i love the most, all in the same night.

3. Three more times working nights. the people at deseret book warehouse are great but to be able to spend my nights with Amber is the happiest thing anyone could offer me. even if it means i will have to fight afternoon traffic again.

4. I am so happy to be able to get married 4 ever with amber.

5. Five months has been so long and i am so glad that it is finally coming to a end. i wish it would have come sooner.

Other stuff: (Amber again)
Last night I got to go to the Draper Temple Celebration with my parents. It was so much fun! There was truly a spirit of celebration as we welcome this new holy temple so close to home. President Monson was there and gave a few words before they started the performance. He had President Eyring stand up and had everyone sing happy birthday to him. It was so sweet. One of my favorite parts of the performance is when they did a military tribute. They sang parts of the anthems to each branch of the military and had those in the audience who had served in the respective branches stand up. It was so cool how strong the Spirit was during this part. I have such a respect and grattitude for those who have given their time and efforts to protect and defend our country. After having served my mission around so many Marines I have a greater love for the sacrifices that they really make in our behalf. It was also fun to see the pictures of the different General Authorities that served in the military. There was no question who it was when they showed the younger picture of Elder Perry. He has the same great smile! I was so glad that I had the chance to go to the celebration. I am so happy that the Draper Temple has been built so near by and that I get to be married there in five days! Hooray!
We drove up to the cabin this morning! I was so excited to be up there, even if it was only for part of the day. It is so beautiful up there! It was fun to show Kyle all the beauties and reasons I love the cabin so much. He probably thought I was so cheesy about it all, but that's just how I am. I really do love the cabin and it is such a big part of my love of the summertime. I'm excited to get back up there several more times this summer/fall.
Well, I'm done. :) Happy five days more!!! :)

Six!!!!!!

1. I get to marry Kyle a week from today! Yay!

2. I don't have to worry about wedding plans after the wedding. I mean, I really don't care if there's flowers or a topper on top of the cake. It's my cake so shouldn't you just believe that I know what I want and I don't care if you don't think it will look "complete?" Haha. I guess I'm just not the typical bride, and I'm not too concerned with many of the traditions that so many people feel are so important. What is most important to me is that I will be married to Kyle. That day will be fun and I will be happy, that's what matters most.

3. I am thankful to be marrying someone who has come to know me so well. I didn't have a car yesterday, and he had planned to bring me lunch since he knows I always forget to pack one for myself. If not for him, I may have starved yesterday. :) lol

4. I am excited to have some time away from work. I have been so worn out lately, so it will be nice to take a week away in order to recoup. Too bad I have to work long days at the beginning of next week. It will be fun though!

5. I am so grateful to have a Heavenly Father that loves me and is watching out for me. Things have run so smoothly as we have worked to plan our wedding and the other details as we start our marriage. We needed a car- we found one really quickly. We needed a place live- we found on right away. I wanted to do our guest book with a certain program, and my wonderful cousin called me (not know that's exactly what I wanted) and offered to help me be able to do that. Thanks to everyone who has shown us so much love and support. We really do love you all!

6. I am excited that I will get to keep Kyle for eternity! :)

This time next week will be our wedding day! Weird! Crazy! It is so permanent, the most permanent thing I've ever done. I'm so excited, though, that it is so permanent! That's what makes it even better!
P.S. Thanks for all your guys' comments, they are fun and add to my own excitement!

Seven!!!!!!!

(Please notice the title has seven exclaimation points. LOL)

1. I cannot comprehend that tomorrow starts our last weekend before the wedding. There is so much that I wanted to get done before the wedding and all of a sudden it is here! Crazy! It will be a fun weekend too, fill with cabin fun! :)

2. I am grateful that my car decided to break down before the wedding. I knew this week would not go perfectly smoothly, but I'm okay with it. That's what I get for going to spend time with Kyle and forgetting to take my car in to get serviced.

3. Along the same note of the car, I am super super thankful to Kyle's parents for wanting to rent us a car to drive for the honeymoon. I thought it was nice before, but now I'm even more happy because who knows if my car really could have made it all the way to California and back?... Thanks Jim and Tarolyn!

4. This time next week I will be having a spa day with my mom and Arti(?) getting our hands and feet pampered! I love to be pampered! I have one of my friends doing my hair and make-up for the wedding. She has practiced once, did my hair for the bridals, and then last night just called randomly because she got some new pedicure stuff and wanted to use it. She is so sweet. She is also, thankfully, very good at what she does. It is fun to be a bride and to get spoiled in all those ways. :)

5. I am thankful to be marrying someone who loves me so much. I am so weird sometimes. For example: I was saying last night that he should probably get his hair cut on Friday so it isn't such a fresh cut for the wedding, but it is still short like I like it. He said he was planning on Monday, and that I am the one that likes it short. This is a man who would cut his hair maybe once every three months. We've been together for about 8 months now and I think he's cut his hair at least 4 or 5 times. He is so cute! I love him!

6. I'm excited to see friends and family I haven't seen in a very long time. I had someone from my mission call to say she may be here for the wedding! That would be so fun!

7. I'm excited to see Kyle's face as he sees me for the first time in my wedding dress! That will just be so cool!

Yay! It is so so so close!

Eight!

1. I'm happy that the days are not going too fast nor are they going too slowly. I soak in every moment I get to spend with my love and look forward to getting to spend an eternity of moments more with him!

2. I get to go to Disneyland! I haven't been there since I was 14 and Kyle only went once when he was 5. He's like a giddy little boy when he talks about it. I'm so excited to be there with him!

3. On the note of California, I love it there. That is where I served my mission. We will actually be driving through my mission. The last time I road tripped to Cali, I wanted him to be with me so badly. Now he will be! I'm trying to plan out all our snacks and books on tape and my logic puzzles. :) We are going to have so much fun!

4. I'm getting so excited for our family dinner the night before. That is really when it is all going to start. There is going to be yummy food and all our family that loves us! I love family! And I'm so excited to expand my own family. P.S. If you are family, I sent you an email about said dinner. If you did not receive an email from me, please call so we can get you up to date.

5. I'm excited to see everything come together. The flowers, the tables, the decorations... I'm also so thankful for everyone that is so willing to help us with it all!

6. I am thankful to have the greatets Maid of Honor who is always asking if she can do more, even though she has the craziest schedule ever for the next month. Thanks Arti, I love you!

7. Whitney suggested to me to look at expiration dates and notice that they are starting to fall after the date of the wedding. I love that! I actually did that a couple weeks ago with a car's temporary license, it expired on like June 8 or something, and I said "By the time that car gets its real plates, we will be married!" Kyle just laughed. :) I'm such a nerd!

8. I'm excited to be able that I will walk into the temple hand in hand with Kyle as Amber Vernon and walk out with him, hand in hand, as Amber McFall! (Let us note, I really am going to miss being called Amber Vernon. I have already had some pre-separation anxiety about it. But I'm even more excited that by being Amber McFall it means that I will be Kyle's wife! Plus, I will still carry on the fact that I am a Vernon with pride! As we used to chant when we were young "We are the Vernon's and we kick butt!")

I'm getting so excited! Eight more days!!!

Nine

There are nine days left until we get married! As Kyle puts it, we are down to the single digits!!! I've decided to post nine reasons I am thankful/excited/ and such. If I'm on top of things enough, maybe I'll do this every day leading up to the wedding.

1. I am excited that I get to be married to someone who is so sincere, caring, loving and hard working for the rest of eternity.

2. I am thankful to Summer for spending hours upon hours of her time visiting us to sew various projects for the reception.

3. I am amazed at the talents of my mother and father. They have put everything together so smoothly and I have not even been aware if there is any real difficulty. They love me a lot and I love them a lot!

4. I am excited that I will have the best in-laws. I have always felt welcome and comfortable with all of them. The transition to actually becoming family will be an easy one.

5. I am thankful that Heavenly Father knows me so well and has prepared me in so many ways to be in the situation that I am in right now. None of my "life plans" have quite turned out as I thought they would, but that's because God wanted better for me than I could see for myself.

6. I am excited that last week was the last five day week I will have to work for three weeks! That just makes the wedding seem even closer!

7. I am excited to get to go to the cabin before the wedding. I get to show my favorite person in the world my favorite place in the world!

8. I am excited that Kyle only has to work the night shift 7 more nights!

9. I am excited that I get to marry Kyle Jay McFall!!!

P.S. We had a fun birthday dinner with my family yesterday. Grandma and Grandpa brought a delicious cake! Here is a picture of me blowing out the candles. Did you know that this is the last year that I can get all my candles from one box? I must be old... But as everyone pointed out, not as old as Andy who now has (almost) three kids and a mini van. That's when you know you're really old. Haha!

Licensed to Wed

For my birthday, Kyle and I went to get our marriage license. :) We can now legally get married! He also took me to lunch and brought me flowers and a new watch for my gift. He's the best!

24!

No it's not 24 days until the wedding. Thank heavens for that! It's my 24th birthday. Crazy! :)

Bubbles

Kyle's family had a nice birthday dinner for me yesterday. It works out perfectly because my birthday is on Wednesday so we had a McFall family dinner this week and next week we will have a family dinner with my family. :) After we ate, we went outside and played with bubbles. The little girls were so excited by it all. So cute!

Kennedy was so intrigued

Such a good uncle!

(Side note: When Summer and her family received their announcement for our wedding, Jorryn was constantly carrying it around. She would say "Kyle is my new aunt!" haha. At least she get the concept that he will be related to her. She hasn't had an uncle until now.)

This is what happens when you ask Kennedy to smile. She pulls the cutest faces. :)

I wasn't able to capture it in photo, but Gwen kept popping the bubbles with her mouth. It was so funny! She had so much energy!

Bridals

I had my bridal photos taken on Tuesday (May 12). When I ordered my dress, they said I would be able to pick it up on May 8. When I called earlier in that week, they told me that it wasn't the arrival date but the shipping date. I was slightly paniced because I had already scheduled with Dad's friend to do the bridals the following Tuesday. They said it would take 2-3 days to arrive. That meant it would either arrive on Monday or Tuesday. I was praying it would show up on Monday. I was so relieved when it did! Holly and I drove up to pick it up. When I had tried on the one in the shop, it was an ivory color. It was really pretty and I liked it, but there was no question that I wanted it in white. When they brought out my white dress on Monday, I was so excited because it is SO beautiful! Good choice Amber! :) On Tuesday, I left work early to go get my hair and make-up done. My friend Rachel did all that for me and did a wonderful job. I was running a little late for the bridal appointment, but I made it. The bride is always the last to show. :) I put on the dress and then we hopped into the car and went over to the International Peace Gardens. It is so beautiful there. It was a little breezy there, so I was kind of chilly and my contacts/eyes were drying out. I hope my eyes are open enough in at least one of the pictures. LOL. I am so appreciative of Brian Twede for helping us with the photography. He captured me so I looked beautiful. Thanks! I'm excited for you all to see the photos, but you'll just have to wait until June 5! No worries, that's only three weeks away! :)
(P.S. Look down through the next two posts as well. They are new too!)
(P.P.S. Thanks Kelli for always leaving comments. It lets me know that at least one person is reading! :)

Families Are Forever!

Last Saturday, Kyle's cousin Todd and his wife, Sammy were able to go through the temple for the first time. Then yesterday, on their anniversary (May 13), they were sealed as a family for eternity. I am so happy for them. You could see the joy to know that they now have each other, and their children eternally! I'm so excited for the chance to be sealed eternally to my love! 21 days to go!

Strutin' Down the Red Carpet!

Arti threw me the cutest shower ever! I wish I had my own pictures. If you want to see some, Arti has a slideshow, so just link to there. It was a movie themed shower, so everyone was assigned two movies so they could choose. Movies included Jumanji (she actually found me a Jumanji game!), Breakfast at Tiffany's (Laura gave us a whole basket full of pancake and muffin mixes as well as syrup and such,) The Wedding Planner (a bag full of brown m&m's and scrabble,) and My Big Fat Greek Wedding (Windex and a bunt with a flower in the middle!). It was so much fun to see how creative everyone was! I had so much fun! Arti was so creative about it all. She air popped popcorn, and bought raisenettes (and chocolate covered almonds which I love!), Red Vines and Mike 'n Ikes. All the movie treats we could eat. Literally! She had PLENTY of left overs. She going to use them for a movie day that she is doing for her students. She set up a "red carpet" from the front door into the family room. The guests would arrive and strut their stuff down the carpet to a photo op spot. We posed it up and got some really cute pictures. She had a little photo printer and printed off the pictures. She printed off two of each, one for me to sign and one for the guest to sign. It was fun to have a chance to "autograph" all of them as "Amber Almost McFall!" I thought I was pretty smart. LOL! Anyways, thank you so so so much Arti! It was so much fun! I love you!

Garrett's Baby Blessing

(First off, be sure to read the previous entry too. It's new as well. :) )
Sunday was Kyle's nephew's baby blessing. He is such a handsome little boy. Kyle said that while they were blessing him, he was just smiling big the whole time. I'm excited that he's going to be my little nephew too. It was fun to sit in church with all the children and babies around. I got to hold Gwen and Kennedy a little. Kennedy was a riot! Khari and Kelli attend Unity Baptist church where their hymns are more lively than ours. When the organ started to play, Kennedy started singing and clapping along. It was so cute! I leaned over to Kelli and said, "Well, at least you know she is paying attention in church!" Children are such a sweet reflection of innocence!
After the blessing, we went over to Misty's parent's house for sandwiches and salads. Kerry and Misty put together a very nice lunch. Thanks guys! (Just a little aside: I'm always impressed because Kerry always know's how many days left until the wedding. One day he confessed it's because he's been looking at the blog. :) Thanks for being such a good big brother Kerry!)
It was fun to spend the day with family. We were also able to relax a little, which is something that we haven't done pretty much since Kyle proposed. Anyways, enjoy the pictures.

Me, Garrett and Kyle.

Kennedy and Kelli. You can't see the cookie, but Kennedy would only eat the sweets. She inherited her mother's sweet tooth and sweet personality!
Grandpa Mac and Garrett. Garrett was so content with Jim, no one dared take him away!
Before I finish, I must mention that I sadly had to miss the baby blessing for my lifelong friend's baby Elsie Jane Magelby. I am so excited for her. She's the best so I know she is the best mom! Congrats Candace! I'm sorry I missed it!

It's Raining, It's Pouring, Amber's so busy she can't be snoring!

Saturday I woke up to the sound of the rain. I love that sound. It's so soothing. One of the most peaceful situations for me is to wake up at the cabin to the sound of the rain. And then for the rain to just continue for the rest of the morning. I love it! I'm getting so anxious to get to the cabin. It probably won't happen until after the wedding, but not much can happen until after then since we are so busy. On Saturday, one of my neighbors threw a wedding shower for me. I arrived barely on time, trying not to get soaked in the down-pour of rain. No one was there yet. I think they were trying to wait out the storm. It was fun to be there with my neighbors. Everyone was so kind and excited. It was nice because I wasn't the only center of attention. I liked it that way. Kyle came for the end, and he laughed at some of the comments from the ladies. "He really does have beautiful red hair!" :)
After the shower, we went to lunch. It was nice to just be with him. I love being able to spend time with Kyle. He makes me so happy. It's so fun to make plans and arrange things for our marriage. After lunch, we went and dropped the gifts off at the apartment. As we were getting ready to leave, his mom called and said that they were in the driveway and wanted to come in to see the apartment. I guess they were in the area anyway, so Tarolyn was going to show Jim where we were going to live. We showed them around, then we all left. When we got off the freeway, Kyle noticed his parents were behind us. haha. They figured as long as they were on the east side, they would go try to find the reception spot so they won't get lost the day of the wedding. We lead them to the spot, then we had to show his dad where I live as well.
When we got back to the house, I had to but on my hair styling skills (which are very minimal) and help Angel get ready for the Prom. While I was doing that, Kyle went over to the pavillion with my parents for a minute to check on some things. Then when they got back, he played some N64. He was excited about that. Lol.

Both Angel and Crystal got to go the the Prom on Saturday. They looked so beautiful. The nice thing about having the three sisters all the same age and size was that we didn't have to buy any new dresses this year, but they both still looked amazing! No hand-me-downs, more so hand-me-arounds. They both had a lot of fun!

After the twins left, my parents, Holly, Kyle and I all went out to Su Casa for dinner. I was still full from lunch so I didn't eat much. We figured out some specific time frames for wedding day plans. It is so crazy that it is getting so close! I'm so excited for it to be here. Is June 5 tomorrow? :)
Below is a not as good in real life picture of the amazing rainbow we saw while driving to dinner. The rainbow was a full arch and so vibrant. There was also a little bit of a double rainbow in some spots. I love the beauty of nature. God is so good to allow us these little treasure to add so much joy to our lives. :)
